Live By The Barre Code

Since I have had some experience now at Barre Bee Fit, I figured it was time for a review. I believe that different workouts mean different things to individuals – and am now a full believer that you can find a workout you think is FUN. After struggling with forms of exercise I forced myself to do, I used a Gilt City coupon to take some classes a few months ago at Barre Bee Fit. I fell in love. Addicted. I finally just got an unlimited membership and could not be more excited.

BBF’s website says it combines “intense cardio, total body toning, deep stretching and detoxification” in weekly choreographed classes to focus on small, often ignored muscle groups. And um, it kicks your butt. Not since my competitive figure skating days have my legs shaken during a workout like that. There are many different types of classes – I love the cardio classes like interval and “brawl”, as well as the toning classes like “Barre Bee”. In the cardio classes I sweat my butt off. In the toning classes I barely sweat, but have trouble walking down the stairs correctly afterwards. What I also love? They have a HOT studio! I finally admitted to myself that while I love a hot room to do yoga-ish movements in, I hate Core Power Yoga. I’m not interested in the ‘zen’ aspect of it – just the workout and the stretch. This place basically incorporates everything I need in one place. It’s all women, and super cute! Everyone is super supportive and seriously the time flies. I have never had an hour workout go by so quickly.

I don’t know why this place has me so addicted. I feel my muscles getting a workout, and I just have FUN. For those of you who think it may be “dancey” – it is not. There are no routines like Zumba, etc. They use the bar as an extra tool to target muscles and exhaust them. Looking to give it a try? Head over to their website and login. First time classes are only $8! I would recommend a “Barre Bee” class to get the best feel for the method, and if you really want a great work out sign up for a class with Trista. Let me know in the comments if you go – and let them know I sent you their way!

These opinions are all my own, and Barre Bee Fit had nothing to do with this review!
